We have been living and working in Rotterdam for years with great pleasure. The city is dynamic, energetic and increasingly attractive, always something to do.
So why Slovenia you ask?
A small country (half of NL) within the EU just below Austria and next to Italy with a small piece of coastline on the Adriatic Sea. Little known but incredibly beautiful. The 2 million inhabitants spread over a very varied landscape. From Tuscan rolling and grape-covered hills through vast forests with world-famous limestone caves to an alpine landscape in the Julian Alps.
We found well-educated, cheerful and English-speaking people when we traveled through for the first time in 2016, since then love has only grown. We are privileged to be able to create a second home in Slovenia. On a mountain in the North-West is a beautiful house that literally offers a view over all the aforementioned. We will spend more than half of the time there. Not only will we rent out the house in the time that we are not there ourselves, but we will also help organise outdoor holidays for groups. There is so much beauty in the Soča valley, a walhalla for outdoor sports.
Outdoor sports are great, but at the end end of the day we all want nice meals with the best Slovenian wines under the roof of Hiša Kal.
